1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using DocEasy ("the Website", "we", "us", "our"), located at doceasy.org, you ("User", "you") agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please discontinue use of the Website immediately.

DocEasy provides free online utilities including image editing, PDF manipulation, invoice generation, document scanning, and related tools. All tools are offered for personal and professional use.

2. Client-Side Processing & Privacy

Important: DocEasy operates entirely within your browser. Your files never leave your device.

DocEasy is a 100% client-side web application. This means:

  • No file uploads: When you use tools like the Image Compressor, Passport Photo Maker, PDF Editor, Word Counter, or any other tool, your files (photos, PDFs, documents, text) are processed locally inside your browser. They are never transmitted to our servers or any third-party server.
  • No data storage: We do not store, save, log, or retain any user files, photos, documents, or extracted text on our servers.
  • No account required: You can use every tool without creating an account, providing an email address, or submitting any personal information.
  • Local memory only: All operations (compression, background removal, OCR, PDF editing, format conversion, invoice generation) execute using JavaScript, WebAssembly, and browser APIs directly on your device.
  • Auto-clear: Once you close or refresh your browser tab, any temporary data held in browser memory is cleared automatically.

For more details about how we handle (and do not handle) your data, please read our Privacy Policy.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use DocEasy only for lawful purposes. You must not use the Website to:

  • Process, edit, or generate documents related to illegal, fraudulent, or harmful activity.
  • Forge signatures, stamps, official documents, government IDs, or invoices with the intent to deceive.
  • Violate any local, national, or international law, including copyright, trademark, or privacy laws.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, overload, disrupt, or interfere with the Website's normal operation.
  • Scrape, copy, or redistribute the Website's code, design, or content without written permission.

You are solely responsible for the content you process using our tools and for ensuring your use complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction.

4. Disclaimer of Warranties

DocEasy tools are provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis, without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

While we strive for accuracy and reliability, we do not warrant that:

  • The tools will be error-free, uninterrupted, or available at all times.
  • Any tool will produce perfect, accurate, or legally valid results for every use case.
  • Generated documents (invoices, ID photos, signatures, OCR text) will be accepted by any specific organization, government authority, or third party.
  • Extracted or converted content will be 100% accurate — you should verify all outputs manually.

You use DocEasy at your own risk. Always verify the accuracy and legal validity of any output generated by our tools before relying on it for official, legal, financial, or government purposes.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DocEasy, its owners, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Website, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data, files, or documents.
  • Inability to access the Website or tools.
  • Rejection of any generated document by a third party.
  • Any actions taken based on the output of our tools.

Because all processing happens on your device, you are responsible for maintaining backups of your original files.

6. Third-Party Libraries & Services

DocEasy uses open-source libraries (such as PDF.js, PDF-Lib, JSZip, Tesseract.js, MediaPipe) and CDN services to power its tools. These are loaded directly into your browser and may be subject to their own respective licenses and terms. We do not control or guarantee the availability of external CDN services.

The Website may display advertisements served by third-party advertising networks (such as Google AdSense). These services may use cookies as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

All original content, code, design elements, articles, and illustrations on DocEasy are the property of DocEasy and its creators, unless otherwise noted. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the Website without written permission.

You retain all rights to the files you process using our tools. We claim no ownership over your documents, images, or text.

8. Advertisements

DocEasy may display third-party advertisements to keep the service free. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or safety of any external advertisements or the websites they link to. Clicking on an advertisement means you leave DocEasy and agree to the third party's own terms.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Website after any changes means you accept the updated terms. We recommend checking this page periodically.
